It has two parts. The application on your own Windows computer or VPS reads the gold market (XAUUSD) and your account from your own MetaTrader 5 terminal and sends those data to our server over an encrypted connection. The trading rules run on our server and send the result back, and the application places any resulting order on your own MetaTrader 5 account, directly with your broker. You set every number — the lot size, the ladder, the reverse level, the chain limits, the daily stop and the target — and the rules work within those settings. We set no minimum or maximum for any of them. We set no number for you — not one, the entry confidence threshold (AUTO and SEMIAUTO use it; MANUAL does not) included: you type every value yourself; nothing is preset.
A chain design — the ladder — is a list of lot sizes that you enter yourself in the panel before the trade starts. The first number is the position the application opens; the numbers after it are the only sizes it is allowed to add if that position goes against you, and it never adds more legs than you allow. Every ladder therefore has a worst case: what the whole chain can reach if every leg is used and the market keeps going the wrong way.
A bigger ladder is not a better one: it is simply a bigger position and a bigger possible loss. We do not supply ready-made designs and we do not tell you which ladder to use; the same choices are open on every plan, and the plan only decides who makes the entry.
Yes — you set them in the first place. Besides the ladder itself, you set the chain loss at which the chain is reduced to a lot size you choose, the maximum loss of the chain, the daily stop and the daily target. All of them are figures in US dollars that you enter yourself in the panel and can change whenever you like. We do not recommend any figures and we set no minimum or maximum; the panel only checks that each value is a valid number. (We set no number for you — not one, the entry confidence threshold included: you type every value yourself; nothing is preset.) Which figures are right for you and your account is your decision; see “Which lot size or design should I use?” below.
Yes. Besides the ladder and the limits, you set your own entry rule in the panel, in the section ENTRY AND EXIT RULES. It decides when a trade may be opened at all. It has eleven fields, and BUY and SELL are set separately — two rules, not one mirrored:
Every one of them is required. Without the entry rule the application opens no trade, not even one you enter by hand, and the panel refuses to save a profile that is missing any of them and names the field. We set none of these values and suggest none; the package instructions explain each field.
On our server. The application on your computer sends our server data from your MetaTrader 5 terminal; the rules run there with the settings you have chosen and send the result back to the application, which places any order on your account directly with your broker. Orders do not pass through our server. How entries are decided depends on your plan: in MANUAL you place each entry, in SEMIAUTO you approve each new trade, in AUTO the application enters without asking you each time, once you have switched AUTO on.
It tells you what the rules on our server make of the market at that moment, and nothing more. Before you place an entry, MANUAL prints a readout: a direction (buy or sell, or stand aside), how confident the rules are in it, how strong that reading is, a suggested lot, the reasons behind it, and warnings when the price is sitting at a local high or low. Nothing is placed from that readout: you type the direction and the lot yourself, and you confirm the order. It is the output of a calculation — we do not know your income, your other assets, your objectives or your experience, we never take them into account, and we do not assess whether any trade or any setting is suitable for you. The decision, and the loss or the profit that follows it, are yours.
We cannot log into your account and cannot place a withdrawal: the application attaches to a MetaTrader 5 terminal you have already logged in to, and your password never leaves your computer. But yes, our server does receive your account number, balance, equity, broker server name, the last eight days of deals on your account and the state of your open positions — the rules need them. It never receives your broker password or the account holder’s name.
It runs on any MetaTrader 5 account — a retail broker, or a funded or challenge account from any proprietary trading firm. Check your firm’s rules on automated trading before you start; that is your responsibility, not ours.
No. Requirements: a Windows 10/11 PC or a Windows VPS, with MetaTrader 5 installed and logged in to your own account. The application does not run on macOS or Linux — Mac users can run it on a Windows VPS. The reason is MetaTrader 5 itself: the Python interface the application uses to talk to your terminal is published for Windows only, so no macOS or Linux build of it exists for us to use.
Yes, while you want it to trade. If the machine sleeps or loses power, the application stops working and any open position stays on your account, managed by your broker’s own stop loss. The same happens if your internet connection or our server is unavailable: no new position is opened, and an open position stays protected by the stop loss at your broker. Many customers use a small virtual server (VPS) for this reason.
Because publishing one would be a claim about what you can expect, and we are not willing to make that claim. Spectar FX Gold is a new product. Instead of a number you cannot verify, there is an 8-day free trial of the MANUAL plan — run it on a demo account and judge for yourself. A card is required; unless you cancel before the trial ends, the MANUAL monthly subscription (€49 + VAT/month) starts automatically.
| Requirement | Detail |
|---|---|
| Windows 10/11 PC or Windows VPS | stays on while you trade; the application does not run on macOS or Linux |
| Internet connection | always on while the application runs — the trading rules run on our server |
| MetaTrader 5 | installed and logged in to your account |
| Python 3.13 | from python.org — tick “Add to PATH” |
| Licence key | normally issued straight away and shown on the page after payment; also sent by email from [email protected], within 24 hours at the latest |
About five minutes for most people; it depends on your computer. The file
README.txt in the package takes you through each step:
bot\license.key.bot\client_config.json and copy the two server addresses from the
“YOUR SERVER” section of your licence email into data_channel_address
and analysis_address, exactly as written there. Without them the application cannot
reach our server, and it tells you which field is missing. We set no minimum. You choose the lot size, the ladder and the limits yourself, and whether they fit your account is your decision. The panel only checks that each value is a valid number; it does not assess whether the figures suit your account.
Yes, with the additional account add-on. One licence is bound to one MetaTrader account number. For one more account — for example an account with a second prop firm — you add an additional MT5 account to the plan you already have: MANUAL €19 + VAT/month (€190 + VAT/year), SEMIAUTO €29 + VAT/month (€290 + VAT/year), AUTO €39 + VAT/month (€390 + VAT/year). It works only together with an active main licence of the same plan: at checkout you enter the number of the additional account and the key of your main licence, and you get a separate licence key for that account with the same package as your main plan. When your main licence ends, the additional account stops working with it. It is a separate subscription, and cancelling your main plan cancels it automatically. See Add-ons.
Machines are a different matter: one licence runs on up to three of your own computers, and moving between those three is free and immediate. When all three are in use, a fourth new computer is refused; if you have replaced a computer, write to [email protected] and we free the slot.
A small window that stays on top of your other windows and changes the size of your open
position with one click: a bigger size adds to the position in the same direction, a smaller size
closes part of it. It can also open a hedge of a size you choose on the opposite side, and close
it again, through a manual command. The size on each button is yours: you type the sizes yourself
in your own configuration (lot_panel_sizes); nothing is preset.
It is included in SEMIAUTO and AUTO at no extra charge. On MANUAL it is an add-on for €12 + VAT/month (€120 + VAT/year), and it works only together with an active main MANUAL licence: at checkout you enter the key of your main MANUAL licence, and the Lot Panel then opens with that key. When your main licence ends, the Lot Panel stops working with it; cancelling your main plan cancels the add-on subscription automatically.
| Bot | what it is doing on your account |
| Monitor | your position, daily result, your limits |
Close the bot window. Any open position stays on your account and remains yours to manage — the application does not close it on the way out.
The position is closed and nothing new is opened until the next day. A gap in the market or slippage at your broker can carry a position past the limit, and if our server or your connection is unavailable at that moment, the stop loss at your broker is what protects the position.
Yes — by Telegram, WhatsApp or email, on entry, close, reverse, trailing stop and daily stop. All three are off by default and each needs your own credentials. If you switch one on, the message goes from your machine to that provider, not to us. See the Privacy Policy, section 2a.
Yes, all the time the application runs. The trading rules run on our server, so the application sends our server data from your MetaTrader 5 terminal — including your account number, balance, equity, deal history and open positions — over an encrypted connection and receives the results back. Our server first checks that your subscription is active; without an active subscription it accepts no data and returns nothing. Without that connection the application does not start and opens no new position. You also need the internet for MetaTrader (your broker).
| Plan | Monthly (+ VAT) | Yearly (+ VAT) | Who starts the trade |
|---|---|---|---|
| MANUAL | €49 | €490 | you |
| SEMIAUTO | €85 | €850 | the application prepares it, you approve it |
| AUTO | €125 | €1,250 | the application, once you switch AUTO on |
In MANUAL you place each entry yourself. In SEMIAUTO you approve each new trade. In AUTO, once you switch it on, the application enters without asking you to approve each entry, using the results of the rules on our server within your settings. On every plan the application shows you what the rules on our server make of the market — a direction, how confident the rules are and a suggested lot — and on every plan, once a position is open, the application manages it by your numbers: trailing, reverse legs, ramp, chain cap, daily stop and daily target. On every plan you set every one of those numbers yourself — ladder, lot size, limits — with no minimum or maximum from us.
Yes — ten months instead of twelve, so two months free.
The MANUAL plan, free for 8 days — it is the start of the MANUAL monthly subscription. A payment card is required to start it, and nothing is charged during the 8 days. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, the MANUAL monthly subscription (€49 + VAT/month) starts automatically when the trial ends: €49 plus VAT is charged to your card and the subscription renews monthly until you cancel. If you cancel before the trial ends, you pay nothing. SEMIAUTO, AUTO and the yearly MANUAL plan have no free trial.
In your Link account at link.com — Link (Sold through Link, LLC, an affiliate of Stripe) is the merchant of record for our orders and manages subscriptions. Plans renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel; after you cancel, your plan runs to the end of the period you have already paid for and no further payment is taken.
Link, an affiliate of Stripe, which acts as merchant of record for your order. The charge appears on your statement as “LINK.COM*”, and your receipt and invoice come by email from Link. Questions about a payment or a refund can go to Link support (support.link.com) or to us.
No. This is a subscription: updates, fixes and support are included for as long as your plan runs, and the licence stops when the plan does. There is no one-off purchase.
MetaTrader 5 is not running, or it is not logged in to the account in your broker config. Open the terminal, log in, then start the application again.
The key is bound to one MetaTrader account number. Check that the account number in your broker config matches the one you bought the licence for — that is the usual cause. The machine is not the problem: you may run the Application on up to three computers, and moving between those three is free and immediate. When all three are in use, a fourth new computer is refused — if you have replaced a computer, write to us and we free the slot. If the key is still rejected, write to [email protected].
bot\spectar_log_<date>_<YOURBROKER>.txt (see “Where is the log
file?” below) — if it did not behave as described, that is a defect and
we will fix it or arrange a refund of the affected period, processed through Link. A trading loss on its own is not a defect,
and our Terms set that out.
Yes — the plan you pay for sets how long you wait for the first reply, and that time is written into section 11A of our Terms of Service, so it is binding on us:
| Plan | First reply |
|---|---|
| MANUAL | within 24 working hours |
| SEMIAUTO | within 12 working hours |
| AUTO | within 4 working hours |
An automatic receipt does not count as the first reply — a person has to answer what you wrote. Slovenian public holidays are not working days. We do not promise how long a fix takes, because that depends on what is wrong; we promise when you hear from us.
In the bot folder next to the program, named
spectar_log_<date>_<YOURBROKER>.txt — one file per day, where
<YOURBROKER> is the broker_name from your broker
configuration file. It records what the application did and why: every order it placed,
every refusal, and the reason. Attach the file of the day in question when you write to
support, because without it we can only guess.
Write to [email protected] with your MetaTrader account number, what happened, and the log file. You get the first reply within the time for your plan in the table above — 24, 12 or 4 working hours. That is when you hear from us; how long a fix then takes depends on what is wrong, and for a formal notice that the Service does not conform to the contract, section 11 of the Terms also applies.
Yes, continuously while it runs, because the trading rules run on our server. It sends gold prices and candles from your terminal, your account number, balance, equity and broker server name, the deals on your account for about the last eight days, and the state of the application and your open positions. The connection is encrypted, and our server accepts the data only while your subscription is active.
It never sends your broker password or the account holder’s name. If the connection drops, the application opens no new position and an open position stays protected by the stop loss at your broker.
Write to [email protected] first. You get the first reply within the time for your plan — 24, 12 or 4 working hours — and a formal complaint is in any case acknowledged within 3 business days and answered within 14 days. Questions about a charge, a subscription or a refund can also go to Link support, which handles the payment side of your order.
Out-of-court dispute resolution. DMG TIM does not recognise any out-of-court consumer dispute resolution provider (izvajalec IRPS) under the Slovenian ZIsRPS. We say so expressly here and in section 18 of the Terms of Service, because Article 32(3) ZIsRPS requires a trader who recognises none to state it on its website and in its terms. You keep every right to go to a competent court, or to a consumer dispute resolution body in your own country of residence. The European Commission’s ODR platform was discontinued on 20 July 2025 under Regulation (EU) 2024/3228, so there is no link to it.
