On the desktop terminal you can close positions one by one from the Trade tab, and current versions also offer bulk closing in the right-click menu of that tab; a script such as our free Spectar Close All does the same in one step. The MT5 phone apps close positions one at a time, and scripts do not run on a phone.
There are moments when you want everything flat now: news is about to land, the day has gone wrong, or you simply want to stop. With two positions that is easy. With eight positions across three symbols, plus pending orders, closing them one by one takes time you may not have. Here is what MetaTrader 5 offers and where a script helps.
Open the Toolbox (Ctrl+T) and go to the Trade tab. Each open position has its own row. Double-click a row to open the order window and choose Close, or right-click the row and choose Close Position. With one-click trading switched on, each row also has a small close button at its end that closes the position straight away.
This is fine for a few trades. It is slow when there are many, and each close is a separate order filled at its own price.
Current desktop versions of MetaTrader 5 have a Bulk Operations item when you right-click in the Trade tab. It typically offers choices such as closing all positions, closing only profitable or only losing ones, closing positions on one symbol, and deleting pending orders.
A few practical notes, because terminals differ:
Treat the menu names here as a guide and look at your own terminal before you need it in a hurry.
A script is a small program that runs once when you drop it on a chart and then stops. A close-all script sends the closing orders for you, so you do not have to work down the list.
Our free Spectar Close All script runs in MetaTrader 5 for Windows. It can close every open position on the account or only those on the chart’s symbol, deletes pending orders unless you switch that off, asks you to confirm before it acts, and closes the oldest positions first, so hedging, netting and FIFO accounts are handled. Installation is the usual one: copy the file into MQL5\Scripts through File → Open Data Folder, refresh the Navigator, drag it onto a chart, and keep Algo Trading switched on.
It acts once, when you start it. It does not watch your account during the day. If you want positions closed automatically when a daily limit is reached, that is a different tool; see how to set a daily loss limit on MT5.
The MetaTrader 5 apps for Android and iPhone let you close a position from the Trade tab: tap or hold the position and choose Close. As far as we are aware, the phone apps do not offer a close-all button, but versions change, so check your own app.
Scripts and Expert Advisors do not run in the phone apps at all; they run only in the desktop terminal. If you often need to close everything while away from your desk, two options are common: close each position in the app, or keep the desktop terminal running on a Windows VPS and connect to it remotely.
Current desktop versions offer Bulk Operations in the right-click menu of the Trade tab, which includes closing all positions. It depends on your terminal version, and one-click trading may need to be on. The phone apps close positions one at a time.
No. Scripts and Expert Advisors run only in the desktop MetaTrader 5 terminal. On a phone you close positions one by one, or connect to a desktop terminal running on a VPS.
Not automatically. Positions and pending orders are separate. Our free Spectar Close All script deletes pending orders by default unless you switch that off.
In Spectar FX Gold, closing the bot window does not close your open position; it stays on your account and remains yours to manage.
Spectar FX Gold is a subscription service for MetaTrader 5, for gold (XAUUSD). You set every number yourself — lot sizes, daily stop, daily target, trading hours and news window — and the rules work within those settings; we set no number for you and recommend none. When the daily stop is reached, the position is closed and nothing new is opened until the next day, which starts when the market opens in your broker’s server time.
It runs on your own MetaTrader 5 account. We never receive your broker password, never hold funds, and there are no signals. A gap in the market or slippage at your broker can carry a position past any limit; a daily stop is a setting, not a promise. The plans are MANUAL, SEMIAUTO and AUTO, monthly or yearly, with an 8-day free trial on MANUAL monthly. You can read more in the FAQ.
Keep your daily limit in one place: the free Daily Loss Limiter for MT5 locks the trading day once today's loss reaches the figure you set, and the daily loss calculator shows the balance where that happens.

On iPhone and iPad this takes three taps.
If you do not see it, scroll the Share menu down. The trading service itself runs in MetaTrader 5 on Windows; the app opens this site.
